Meet Arthur Harlow, Field Service Manager in Jonesboro, AR!

 

How He Got to Hugg & Hall

For the last four years, Arthur Harlow has been helping customers and making Hugg & Hall a better place.

He’s a Texan by birth, but has been enjoying life in Arkansas for 13 years now! He grew up in Texas and Tennessee, but moved to Arkansas in 2011.

Arthur’s expertise in the construction equipment industry is impressive! After a nearly 10-year tenure at a Caterpillar dealer, he came to work at Hugg & Hall as a Heavy Field Service Technician.

 

A Well-deserved Promotion

After working as the Lead Heavy Field Service Technician, Arthur was promoted to Field Service Manager in July due to his expertise and ability to manage people.

Bob Lewis, Product Support Manager in Jonesboro, said,

With his strong technical ability and his calm and friendly demeanor, he was a great fit for this role as support coach and trainer for the Heavy Equipment Technician team. He works with the administrators to ensure that they proper technicians are assigned to the correct jobs and balances the workload.

He travels to the sites where the techs are working to ensure that they have what they need. Arthur acts as a communication buffer with the customers, ensuring that the technician does not feel like they are on an island.

 

On the Job

Arthur divides his time between customers and his employees, making sure things run smoothly for both.

I communicate with customers, the service manager, and service admin for troubleshooting and repairs needing done. Then I distribute the work to our techs throughout the day. I also work with the Parts department to get parts for repairs needing done.

Additionally, I also check in with the techs at the end of the day as to what they got done and what parts and machines are available, so I know where the techs need to be the next day.

Whenever he gets a chance, Arthur also takes some of the best photos of service trucks and technicians getting the job done!

We’re always proud to share his photography, and if you see a photo of a service truck or Shuttlewagon on our social media, there’s a good chance it came from him.

Arthur absolutely works and lives by a Benjamin Franklin quote, “Well done is better than well said.” He told us that’s his favorite quote and affects how he does his job.

 

Hugg & Hall Perks, According to Arthur

Arthur’s favorite thing about working at Hugg & Hall? How hard the team works to get customers’ machines back in service.

His favorite memories of working at Hugg & Hall include the amazing tours and training put on by the Shuttlewagon and Taylor Machine Works Factories, located in Kansas City and Mississippi, respectively.

He also loves getting to travel to customers’ jobsites and see their operations!

 

Arthur’s Hobbies and Fun Facts

Outside of the office (or jobsite, depending on the day!) you can find Arthur outside, literally! He loves kayaking, swimming, fishing, hiking, and mountain biking.

Arthur works up an appetite with those strenuous activities! He said, “my coworkers might not know it, but I once ate three triple-meat cheeseburgers with fries from Whataburger. In less than 20 minutes, no less!”
